In the article above published by azcentral, they cover Doug Ducey's plan to increase the amount of college graduates in Arizona by the year 2030. Ducey plans to raise the percentage of graduates from a measly 42 percent to a whopping 60 percent. But little did he know a huge pandemic would arise, throwing a wrench in his plans. As a student myself pursuing a degree I fully support his plan to better educate our state. Having a state with a high percent of scholars and educated people can only benefit us in a plethora of ways.

Doug Ducey joined a community in 2016 called, "AchieveAZ60". The goal of this community was to raise the bar for Arizona and boost our number of educated individuals by 18 percent by the year 2030. They made really good points in their delivery by stating the benefits of having an increase in graduates. Some of them being more taxes, higher wages, less poverty, and more jobs. If 60 percent of Arizonans held a college degree or certificate, then tax revenues would be estimated to increase by up to $3.5 billion. They also made the point that Arizonans with a degree would see on average a $20,000 increase in pay starting out. Poverty would likely decrease by a great margin seeing that there was about a 12 percent difference between those in poverty with only a high school diploma VS those that held a Bachelors degree. To top it all off there would be more jobs for Arizonans since a better educated workforce is expected to improve business recruitment efforts.

I believe the article did a great job at informing the desired audience, I for sure wholeheartedly agree with what Ducey is trying to achieve. Arizonans need to take action and push for a brighter future, one with a more educated state.
